Phase 1

Today I had the most wonderful, inspiring and guided conversation with a brilliant rebel rousing leader (aka Meg). We talked about what this art journey or website really meant to me. Thinking about something and ruminating in one’s head versus vocalizing and verbalizing your thoughts causes a magical transformation. By being able to say the words out loud allowed me to affirm to myself and to confirm what I had always wanted to do.

Simply put, “Ducky’s Workshop” is my time capsule, legacy, and museum. A place to explore and to create without limitations or seeking approval or finding what audience I need to serve or what trend I have to follow.

Nope none of that, this is my space.

A space to freely create and archive/organize (yes I am a very organized person…a place for everything and everything in its place sparks joy in me) my art and my ideas and words.

Looking back I have always had the urge to create. When I was able to I created paintings the larger the better with lots and lots of paint. When space ran out and when Izzy was born (inhaling the fumes from the oil paint would have been harmful to her, tell you more next time) I switched to acrylics, and pencil crayons. I kept moving across the world and so I started knitting, sadly most knitting projects are still unfinished. Fast forward to 2023 where digital art became more prevalent. So I dipped my toe into the digital art space. Signing up for Immersion, a surface pattern design course, which taught me how to use Adobe Illustrator and as part of the workflow, I also use Adobe Fresco. Tomorrow, I will purchase Procreate. Trust me I’ve put off purchasing it because I thought that since Adobe Fresco came with my AI package I might as well master it, but there are limitations…guess that’s why there are 100 Procreate courses vs 2 Adobe Fresco courses online , for example.

But, at the end of the day, this space and the art brings me JOY!

So my wish for you, dear reader, if you’ve landed here and stayed till the end of this post is that my art can also “Bring Joy to your Daily Life”.
