Water avatar

I finished watching Avatar II last night and I have mixed feelings. To me its reminiscent of waiting for the release of a new book in a series or another season of a tv show. However when the lag time between the end of one book/movie and the release of the next takes more than 1 year the mind starts to forget. I actually chose not to watch the 2nd one in the movie theater because I had a feeling I might be disappointed because the original was such a good movie.

I admit that it would have been an amazing visual experience to have watched Avatar II through 3D glasses at an IMAX theater. However I do feel the story line was too similar to the original. It left me with a very sad sad feeling, I actually cried at the end. I cried not because of the continuous theme of mass destruction brought on by mankind but because I resonated with the characters as a parent. In case anyone has yet to watch it I won’t disclose too much.

Will I wait another 3 years for the next one to come out? Probably not.
