6 FRESH MOS

Yesterday I did my review of the past 6 mos (= months), so what’s coming for the remaining 6 months of 2023? I think I have some idea and I’m glad I’m capturing this so I can come back and check in December to see where I’m at. Oh and if you didn’t know this time of my life is called “dorm life”. Yup, living the dorm life back at home and with the kids because my dream home is not ready, its been 1.5 years un-ready to be exact. But!!! forever the optimist I am, I’m pretty certain by December when I do my year end review that I will be conducting that in my new space.

Right where was I… ok this is what I want to accomplish for the next 6 months of 2023:

  1. Create: I uploaded my older works of art, all non-digital and I thought to myself, “wow, you were really good”. I have to say there is a rawness and authentic way emotions are captured in brush strokes. It doesn’t mean it can’t be done digitally, I just haven’t mastered that yet. So I need to create more art and most likely pick up my paint brushes again.

  2. Complete my courses: go through the Immersion lessons again, continue the print by numbers and domestika courses.

    • Really excited to dive into the “Search and Find Illustration'“ class I feel really drawn to creating more complex illustrations with a hidden element in them. Oooo and possibly turn them into puzzles, wouldn’t that be fun!

  3. Children’s Book: summer holidays are nearly here and so I thought it would be a fun project to do this with her. I had in mind to write a children’s book with the hopes of bringing awareness for people that have a tracheostomy. Fortunately she is now decannulated but it would be good for both of us to capture this in a digestible format for other kids to learn about this medical device and the stories behind why people would need it.

  4. Read: I will complete my goal of reading 12 books this year. I normally have a few books going and read a bit from each so it would be good to finish them. I don’t like leaving books unfinished unless its really boring and just ends up collecting dust turning them into “shelf-help” books!

  5. Exercise: adding this back into my daily routine at least 15mins a day minimum. I found that since I stopped going to the gym since dorm life began aches and pains kept creeping back. so no good, I mean no one wants to be a “tin man”.

Look at that 5 actions, that is doable and I can do this!!!
